Introduction (Lynne Ramsay)

Lynne Ramsay

Vigorous, mysterious, and always on the move, the films of Lynne Ramsay have introduced bold new possibilities for sound, color, and the exploration of memory. Room 2 contains the two-part film The Ghost of Nicolas Roeg, one of Ramsay's great influences, and addresses her complex and layered psychological editing. These questions are explored further in Room 3 through sections on Ramsay's recurring motifs, approaches to sound and color, and emphasis on ceremonies and rituals.
